Parker Thatch Medusa and Anchor Gold Coin Charm
This Parker Thatch coin symbolizes protection and luck. Medusa was a universal theme for the ancients and was found throughout the ancient world as a talisman for protection and luck. She has the power to ward off the negative, much like the modern evil eye.
The original coin was minted in 400 BC in Thrace. It was said in Greek mythology that Medusa was one of three Gorgon sisters born to two sea gods. She was changed into a snake-haired "monster" by Athena out of spite and anger and any man who looked into her eyes was turned to stone.
Each coin is about 1.5 wide and heavy in weight
Composition: polished brass
Designer: Parker Thatch
